We missed many of you today due to field trips and illness. Hopefully, you'll all be back in your comp class on Monday so that the final grammar exam will be a piece of cake. :) Here's what you missed today:
1. We practiced the punctuation rules on the handout you received yesterday. We did these together while I had answers on screen. There's really not a way you can make this up. :(
2. Students completed the first half of the second punctuation rules sheet; they received it today. Some of you checked out a book over the weekend to get this done. Good for you in telling me ahead of time that you'd be out! For the others out today, you'll need to make this up on Monday.
3. We began a fun-ish Christmas activity, mostly to spice up these dry grammar and punctuation lessons. We'll continue working on this writing next week, so you'll have time to get in on the fun. Oh, and watch this video clip if you have time. Really, it's required viewing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTpVI93hddY . (Copy/paste the URL to view. I don't have time to hyperlink it.)
